Is this the world's ugliest fish?
It is not exactly blessed in the looks department.
In fact some divers who came across this unusual-looking fish off the Japanese coast have now nicknamed it 'Shrek' because of its bizarre features. 'Shrek' is a type of Asian sheepshead wrasse which are well-known for the odd protrusions on their head and are relatively common in the waters around Japan.

Two-timing man loses RM90,000 to medium
A SINGAPOREAN man whose girlfriend dumped him after he cheated on her was conned out of RM90,000 after he sought the help of various mediums to cast a love spell on her.
Sin Chew Daily reported that Yew, 37, a medical personnel, had even hired a medium from the United States via the Internet to help him but was cheated of RM71,000 instead.
Yew said the money included the many telephone calls he made to the medium in the past three months and for the purchase of three candles.
He said that when he contacted the US police about the case, he was told it would be difficult to get his money back.
Yew said his girlfriend left him two months ago after being with him for eight years because he cheated on her.
“She forgave me the first time when I was unfaithful. But when I cheated on her again, I hit her during an argument. She left me after that,” he said.

Philippine Vampire & Werewolf
In the age of the information superhighway, it amazed me that here at the end of 2008 in the business process outsourcing company where I work, a story of the "tiktik" (a variation of the uniquely Filipino supernatural being called "aswang") was told and retold in detail a number of times.
The work colleague who told this story is a pregnant woman in her first trimester. She said that a tiktik came to her house one night last week. She was sleeping lightly and was jolted by an ikikikik sound accompanied by flapping wings directly above the roof of her bedroom. She woke her her sister up and they turned on all the lights in the house, which was when they heard the sound of the bird flying away. She went as far as saying that the tiktik could actually be a set of new neighbors that moved to their vicinity. I totally did not know how to react. I know quite a number of stories about this old folklore. In my younger days me and my cousins loved trading these stories at night and scaring each other silly in the process.
In Metro Manila and nearby provinces, aswangs remain to be mytical beings but if you travel further down south or up north the myth becomes a rumor and even further down or up the rumors are believed to be true. This is one area though where science and religion see eye to eye. Both sectors scoff at the suggestion that aswangs really exist. These stories are attributed to the ignorance caused by poverty or the mere simplemindedness of people in the provinces. Again, not one for tempting fate I accept my grandmother's advise that one loses nothing when they guard themselves against the most ridiculous of superstitious beliefs and I am all for that.

Schoolgirls who claim to 'see' ghost spooked with hysterics

ALOR STAR, Malaysia: The ghostly apparition which spooked some 50 schoolgirls in Langgar, Alor Star, on Sunday made an appearance again this morning.
Another 17 girls from Forms One to Four of SMK Langgar became hysterical after they claimed they saw the apparition in the school canteen at 9.30am.
Kedah Education director Shahidan Abdul Rahman, in an immediate reaction, advised those affected by the incidents to stay home.
"We are still investigating the matter and I advise those still disturbed from the incidents to stay home," he said.

A second teaser trailer for this October’s ‘Paranormal Activity 2′ has been unveiled and it is virtually the same as the first teaser – that is, until you look closer.
Paramount Pictures has kept the plot of its upcoming supernatural horror sequel, Paranormal Activity 2, thoroughly under wraps. The recently-released second teaser does not so much hint at the film’s plot as it requires viewers to literally dissect the short preview in order to learn anything new.
Paranormal Activity was a micro-budgeted project that became a hit sensation following a unique viral advertising campaign that promoted the feature as an utterly terrifying filmgoing experience. The marketing scheme for the sequel has been more minimalist in design and has virtually gone out of its way to keep moviegoers in the dark about everything related to the movie.

A UFO caused an entire village to disappear? Qinling Mountains, China 13-Oct-2010
A bizarre story has just come out of China apparently reporting a UFO which has caused an entire village to disappear. There isn't any real confirmation for now, but apparently this happened on Sunday, 10th October 2010 in Qinling Mountains, Shaanxi province (there is a pyramid in the region, the fabulous 1,000-foot White Pyramid of Xian and a nuclear facility) and there's even a video on Youtube.
The story was also published on Yahoo News China today:
Direct translation: (Xinhua Ji Nan) 10 13, one on "the end of the Qinling Mountains to a village to disappear overnight," the post pass crazy on the network, especially in the micro-Bo was crazy reserved. After many journalists confirmed that the network confirmed rumors of the news department. Eerie scream heard in factory toilet
STOMPer Char said he heard an eerie scream when he was using the toilet in a factory building at Macpherson. He wonders if the building is haunted by the ghost of a woman who was apparently raped there.
Said the STOMPer:
"Two days ago, at around 3.30pm, I went for a job interview at a factory.
"I later went to the toilet and closed the door and I saw this paper pasted on the back of the door.

What was the UFO that crashed near Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam in May 2008? The Russians contend it was a U.S. military aircaft (SR-91 Aurora) that was shot out of the sky. Cambodia made an early announcement that is was an unidentified plane that had exploded but soon retracted the statement. Soldiers from Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand searched and found metal that could not be identified to any known aircraft. As well, the Vietnamese released video and images of the wreckage...which had strange, unknown symbols or characters embossed on it. So...what was the Phu Quoc UFO?

The Vietnam News Agency said residents of Phu Quoc island, 10 km (6 miles) off the coast of the Cambodian province of Kampot, found shards of grey metal, including one 1.5 meters (1.5 yards) long.
"The explosion happened at about 8 km (5 miles) above the ground, and perhaps it was a plane, but authorities could not identify whether it was a civil or military aircraft," VNA said in a report headlined "UFO explodes over Phu Quoc Island."

It is reported that many residents found what are described as "many gray metal pieces, including a 1.5 meter long piece".
The island district authorities on Phu Quoc quickly contacted airline companies in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, but so far none have confirmed any accidents involving their flights.
The explosion happened at about 8 kilometers, or five miles, above the ground, the VNA reported, "and perhaps it was a plane, but authorities could not identify whether it was a civil or military aircraft
