Legends tell of Saharan kings who could turn into lions when their tribes were endangered. The Mfalme were a race of kings, shapeshifters believed to have been descended from the gods. Their lines ran in nobility of various tribes, and they were strongly integrated with humans. Mfalme were so strongly integrated with humans that there were no wild clans at all. Despite the presence of an Asiatic subspecies of leo pantheris, there were no natural werelions found outside of sub-Saharan Africa.

A werelion is born, as are many other Shifters, but they are the product of a double-recessive gene. They must have both of the werelion genes before the traits will express and the person will be born a werelion. This means that if two Mfalme have children, they will be born a werelion, but any other combination has varying rates. Mfalme can safely parent Tau-Kin, and human children. Unlike werewolves the ability is entirely inherited, and therefor the Mfalme/Tau/Simba cannot infect a human.

Werelions are associated mildly with the sun, similarly as the werewolves to the lunar cycle, but their lives are not nearly so dictated by it. They grow weak during a solar eclipse, and solar flares can affect them. Strong solar flares can provide a peak in power, and when they are present during the birth of a child can have varying and interesting effects.

The werelions are an interesting singularity among their bretheren, in that they do not shift as often as their cousins. Their shifting was not triggered specifically by puberty or high stress situations, but by the need to protect their lands and tribe. Most Mfalme spent a lot of time as humans, but once they had experienced their first shift they could attain their beast form at-will. The leo form, an equivalent of Fire-blooded, was almost always triggered by extreme feelings of defense.

The Mfalme strike a fine line between the female-backboned prides of wild lions, and the primarily patriarchal sub-Saharan human cultures that they integrated with. The males ruled as kings, princes, and warriors, but the females demanded a level of egalitarian society that was very rarely seen. The queens and princesses took a more active role in the life of the pride, often with their own hunting parties, and being advisors and occasionally even military leaders in times of war. Mfalme born to those not of the royal houses would, if allowed, become prominent figures among their tribe, as strong warriors and hunters.

Mfalme can occasionally be found in the north as well, being descended from Tau-Kin that were taken as slaves by the Muslim traders. They are not unwelcome as long as they respect Islam, and converts are simply another member of society. Very rarely, one would be born in the Americas due to the slave trade. In the event that they ever did shift and realize their heritage, they lived solitary lives, not knowing of their lineage.

Defining Islamic Black & White Magic

The Evil Eye

Many Arabs have a general belief in the evil eye - believing that you can jinx someone just by having a negative thought, or by making a negative body gesture or statement. Some people in Qatar blame illness, broken marriages and engagements, miscarriages and the inability of a woman to conceive a child as all consequences of someone putting the evil eye on them. For example, the refusal of a woman to attend another woman's wedding and her sitting in her house with the doors and windows closed and her arms folded is a sure way to put the evil eye on the bride's marriage.

White Magic

If you have been cursed through black magic or the evil eye there is a way out � white magic. While black magic is prohibited not just by religion in Qatar, but also law, white magic is perfectly acceptable. What do I mean by white magic? White magic is a combination of magic and religious rituals which people seek out as a cure to what they believe is a curse or spell through black magic and the evil eye. There are many religious sheikhs, and even a well known community of older Qatari women who people go to with the belief that they can cure them.

White magic usually entails the reading of Qur'an over water and then having the supposed victim to wash in that water or drink it, as well as other rituals such as breaking eggs over things while saying Islamic prayers or sprinkling salt and other food substances over one's self. Some people genuinely believe that white magic works and if it doesn't work, they come to the conclusion that the spell or evil eye is just too strong and that they need to seek out another form of white magic.

Ka’aba and its Mysterious Black Stone

The Black Stone is a Muslim relic, which according to Islamic tradition dates back to the time of Adam and Eve. Historical research claims that the Black Stone marked the Kaaba as a place of worship during pre-Islamic pagan times. It is the eastern cornerstone of the Kaaba, the ancient stone building towards which Muslims pray, in the center of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Stone is a dark rock, polished smooth by the hands of millions of pilgrims, that has been broken into a number of fragments cemented into a silver frame in the side of the Kaaba. Although it has often been described as a meteorite, this hypothesis is still under consideration.

Muslim pilgrims circle the Kaaba as part of the Tawaf ritual of the Hajj. Many of them try, if possible, to stop and kiss the Black Stone, emulating the kiss that Islamic tradition records that it received from the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. If they cannot reach it, they point to it on each of their seven circuits around the Kaaba.

Physical description

The Black Stone consists of a number of fragments held together by a silver frame, which is fastened by silver nails to the Stone. Some of the smaller fragments have been cemented together to form the seven or eight fragments visible today. The Stone's exposed face measures about 20 centimetres (7.9 in) by 16 centimetres (6.3 in). Its original size is unclear; its recorded dimensions have changed considerably over time, as the stone has been remodelled. In the 10th century, an observer described it as being one cubit (slightly over 1.5 feet (0.46 m) long). By the early 17th century, it was recorded as measuring 1.5 yards (1.4 m) by 1.33 yards (1.22 m). According to Ali Bey in the 18th century, it was 42 inches (110 cm) high, and Muhammad Ali reported it as being 2.5 feet (0.76 m) long by 1.5 feet (0.46 m) wide.

The Black Stone was first described in Western literature in the 19th and early 20th centuries by European travelers in Arabia, who visited the Kaaba in the guise of pilgrims. Swiss traveler Johann Ludwig Burckhardt visited Mecca in 1814, and provided a detailed description in his 1829 book Travels in Arabia:

It is an irregular oval, about seven inches in diameter, with an undulated surface, composed of about a dozen smaller stones of different sizes and shapes, well joined together with a small quantity of cement, and perfectly well smoothed; it looks as if the whole had been broken into as many pieces by a violent blow, and then united again. It is very difficult to determine accurately the quality of this stone which has been worn to its present surface by the millions of touches and kisses it has received.

It appeared to me like a lava, containing several small extraneous particles of a whitish and of a yellow substance. Its colour is now a deep reddish brown approaching to black. It is surrounded on all sides by a border composed of a substance which I took to be a close cement of pitch and gravel of a similar, but not quite the same, brownish colour. This border serves to support its detached pieces; it is two or three inches in breadth, and rises a little above the surface of the stone. Both the border and the stone itself are encircled by a silver band, broader below than above, and on the two sides, with a considerable swelling below, as if a part of the stone were hidden under it. Riddle in the sands: Thousands of strange 'Nazca Lines' discovered in the Middle East

Peru’s Nazca Lines, the mysterious geoglyphs etched into the desert centuries ago by indigenous groups, are world famous – and now thousands of similar patterns have been found in the Middle East.

Satellite and aerial photography has revealed mysterious stone ‘wheels’ that are more numerous and older than the Nazca Lines in countries such as Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

The structures are thought to date back 2,000 years, but why they were built is baffling archaeologists and historians.

‘In Jordan alone we've got stone-built structures that are far more numerous than the Nazca Lines, far more extensive in the area that they cover, and far older,’ David Kennedy, a professor of classics and ancient history at the University of Western Australia, told Live Science.

He added: ‘People have probably walked over them, walked past them, for centuries, millennia, without having any clear idea what the shape was.’

The local Bedouin, a nomadic people found in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Egypt and Israel, call them the ‘works of the old men’.

They are often found on lava fields – but don’t fall into any pattern, according to Kennedy, whose research into them will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal Of Archaeological Science.

He explains that they come in a huge variety of forms, some being ‘kites’, structures that funnelled animals, some being seemingly random meandering lines of stone and others being rectangular.

None are believed to be aligned with the stars, which has added to the mystery surrounding their purpose.

They were actually first discovered in 1927 by an RAF pilot called Lt. Percy Maitland, but it wasn’t until Professor Kennedy and his team began studying aerial and Google Earth photographs that their true extent was revealed.

A final count has yet to be completed, but Kennedy is certain they run into the thousands.

Islamic Predictions of World End

Brothers & Sisters;

Since I have not seen any posts that deal with the issue of the end of the world from the point of view of what ISLAM says I have decided to bring you this summary:

Note the following when reading this:
1- The sequence of events noted come from the Q'uran and the Hadith (the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
2- Under Islam Jesus is considered a Prophet and not God.
3- Islam includes both Judaism and Christianity. All of the Prophets from Adam, Noah, Abraham, John, Christ, and Muhammad (pbua)are considered Prophets of Islam.
4- I am writing this with knowledge of both religions as I was Christian Catholic and have embraced Islam a few years ago.
5- The information that appears in the Bible and the Islamic texts corroborate each other. Anyone can buy all these books and read for themselves. There are significant amount of good quality books that address this issue from the point of view of Christianity and Islam. It is just a matter of taking what matches in both religious texts to asess predictions that span more than 2000 years.
6- As you read this you will clearly see that these events are unfolding in front of our eyes, and GOD KNOWS BEST.


THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS:

1- Increasing turmoil and natural disasters, war, death and conflict. See bellow the list of signs given by the Quaran and Prophet Muhammad.

2- Major catastrophe that will kill 2/3 of the world's population. The continents will move and due to the massive changes plants, animals and human life will die off in large numbers. There will be not much food. It is possible that this will happen in the year 2012 but nothing in the Islamic texts confirms this. The only possible sign is that there are no predictions made in Islam beyond the year 2000. Either a meteorite or some sort of energy pull that will cause a shift in the earth axis. This will cause the "sun to come our from the west" (see bellow predictions). Take a globe and flip is upside sown - you will see that the sun will come out form the west. At this time also there will be constant daylight as the earth tilts and moves into the new axis position. As you know Muslims pray 5 times a day. Prophet Muhammad indicate to people that at this time they should break up the day in equal portions and maintain their scheduled prayers.

3- The appearance of the ANTICRHIST. In Islamic terminology it is called the DJALL or LIAR or DECEIVER. This individual will be a Jew whose father will be a Rabbi, he will be blind from one eye and the remaining eye will stick out like a grape. He will have extraordinary powers that will make people believe he is god. He can only be killed by Jesus (a.s.) He will be born in or around the Arabian Penninsula. The fact that he will be Jewish is pointed out in the Torah (Old Testament in the Bible) - Prince of The Israelites and the Islamic texts point out that his main followers will be Jews.
Due to his miraculous powers he will be taken by most of the Jewish and Christian people as the Messiah. As you know Evangelical Christians are waiting for the Messiah once Israel is established. Any one will be able to identify him because he will only support evil actions. Significant amount of Muslims will leave their Faith to also join him a believe in him. It is predicted that a Muslim will believe in the morning and disbelieve in the evening and a non believer will not believe in the morning and believe in the evening. The only people who will oppose him will be a small number of believing Muslims. The Muslims will be persecuted by the ANTICHRIST who will present them as an evil force (sounds familiar?). He will claim he is himself god. The reason for people following him is that due to the amount of turmoil, war, and killings many people will stop believing in God and be angry at Him (as opposed to blaming ourselves for our own corrupt ways). They will look at this individual as their saviour who will have power to produce some food or water for them. Anyone who follows or worships the ANTICHRIST will be cursed to Hell by God.

4- In the Arabian Peninsula an individual will appear. In the Islamic predictions his name is MEHDI (IMAM MEHDI r.a.). He will gather the Muslims who oppose the ANTICHRIST and fight him. For MEHDI and the opposing forces it will be an ongoing loosing battle. Muslims will be defeated in the East and then the West. The ANTICHRIST will come to the walls of Mecca and Medina but he will not be able to enter them.

5- Jesus (a.s.) will descend in Jerusalem. In the Islamic belief Jesus is not crucified, but God replaced him in the cross with another individual and took up to Heaven Jesus (a.s.). One of the main predictions in relation to Jesus (a.s.) is that his descend will be witnessed by EVERYBODY. He will declare his condition as a Prophet and not God. People will turn away from the ANTICHRIST. Jesus (a.s.) will kill the ANTICHRIST at one of the gates of Jerusalem.

6- Once this happens the people of Gog and Magog will come out. They will be all killed. Peace and prosperity will then descend upon the whole world where Jesus (a.s.) will be the leader of all people. At this point Jesus (a.s.) will marry and have a family.

7- Jesus (a.s.) will die. Then, all good people will be taken up by God through a wind that will descend and kill them. Only corrupt, unbelieving people will remain. Then end of the wold will then come and Judgment Day.


These are SIGNS related to the end of times according to Islamic sources:

Wild animals will be gathered into captivity and kept in collections in pens and cages.

Murder will be considered a minor act.

Men will get payment for their reproductive organs (artificial fertilization).

Reducing weights and measures of goods will be a means of increasing profits.

The person earning a proper and lawful livelihood will be scorned and the person earning his living from unfair means will be admired.

The main purpose in life will be earning and enjoying.

Aphrodisiacs will be used to strengthen the body for sodomy.

Usury will gain solid ground.

Adultery will be commonplace.

The murder victim will not know why he is murdered and the killer will not know why he killed.

Mansions like palaces will be constructed.

Bribery will become like a custom.

There will be no regard for the ties of relationship.

Murder will increase.

Fools will be made rulers.

Forbearance will be called cowardice and weakness.

Ministers of government will be liars.

The practice of divorce will increase.

A liar will be considered an acceptable witness.

Homosexuality will be openly practiced.

Good people will keep silent fearing others' foul speech.

Goodness and evil will be viewed from the same perspective.

Young boys will be used like women on payment.

Unworthy persons will meddle in affairs of state.

Men will keep their hair in a ladylike manner.

The governors will consider the wealth of the people as their own and they will attack the morality of women.

Governments will stockpile grains to maintain prices.

Government will be entrusted to those unworthy of it.

The earth will vomit oblong pieces of its liver like columns of gold and silver. The murderer will come and say "I killed for this," and the deserter will come and say "I deserted my family for this," and the thief will come and say "My hand has been cut off for this."

The Euphrates will disclose a mountain of gold over which people will fight. Ninety-nine out of each hundred will be killed and every one of them will say "Maybe I will be the one who will escape."

The Last Hour shall not occur until wealth will increase among you and become enormous, until a man takes out the charity due from his wealth but will find none to accept it, until the land of the Arabs becomes meadows and rivers.

The Last Hour shall not occur until wealth will increase among you and become enormous, and the owner of wealth will search for one entitled to the charity due on it; and he will present it and the person to whom it will be presented will say "I have no need of it;" and barefooted shepherds will compete with each other in the building of tall buildings.

The slave girl will give birth to her owner .


ABOUT THE MUSLIMS IT HAS BEEN PREDICTED:

You will follow the practices of those who were before you, step by step, foot by foot, so much so that if one of them goes into the hole of a lizard you will follow.

God will take up the knowledge, not by removing it from the minds of people, but by taking possession of the knowledgeable. Then the people will call on the ignorant to inform them, and they will go astray and lead astray.

The people will get up in the morning to carry on trade and there will be hardly anyone who will fulfill their bargain. It will be said "There is a trustworthy man in so and so;" and it will be said of a man "How wise is he! How skillful is be! How resolute is he," while in his heart there will be no faith even to the grain of a mustard seed.

It is near that the nations will call one another against you just as diners call one another to their dishes. You will be numerous, but you will be so much rubbish like the rubbish of a flood. God will take away the fear of you from the minds of your enemies and will put weakness in your hearts, from love for this world and dislike of death.

Wait for the last Hour when allegiance will be destroyed. Wait for the Hour when rule will be entrusted to those who will be unworthy of it.


The Hour shall not occur until time contracts. A year will go by like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour and an hour like the kindling of a fire.

Time will become short, learning will come to an end, troubles will appear, miserliness will be cast in the hearts, and murder will increase.

The first of the signs to appear will be the rising of the sun in its place of setting and the coming forth of the beast in the morning. Whichever of them comes first will soon be followed by the other.

Let him who hears of the dajjal go far from him, for I swear by God that a man will go to him thinking he is a believer and follow him because of confused ideas which he rouses in him.

The Smoke; the Dajjal; the Beast; the rising of the sun in its place of setting; the descent of Jesus son of Mary; Gog and Magog; three earthquakes -- one in the East, one in the West, and one in Arabia; and a fire which will drive mankind to their place of assembly.

The least of the signs of the last hour will be a fire which will gather mankind from the east to the west.

Lilith



Lilith is deemed to be as a female demon ! She was once the wife of Adam, Consort of Lucifer and had a marriage with an Archangel Samael! She is also known as Queen of the Succubi, goddess of witches, A dark feminine principle known as the goddess Hecate.



The Hebrew Bible (Book of Isaiah) described Lilith but her roots are more likely in Babylonian demon studies. Lilith was a monster who roamed at night taking on the appearance of an owl. She would hunt, seeking to kill newborn children and pregnant women.She was said to be the first wife of Adam. However, she was demonised because she refused to obey Adam. She was considered evil for such "radical" desires and became a vampire who eventually attacked the children of Adam and Eve

Lilitû demons



The Assyrian lilitû were said to prey upon children and women and were described as associated with lions, storms, desert, and disease. Early portrayals of such demons are known as having Zu bird talons for feet and wings. They were highly sexually predatory towards men but were unable to copulate normally. They were thought to dwell in waste, desolate, and desert places. Like the Sumerian Dimme, a male wind demon named Pazuzu was thought to be effective against them.

Epithet was "the beautiful maiden".She was described as having no milk in her breasts and as unable to bear any children.

Other storm and night demons from a similar class are recorded from Akkadian texts around this period. The Ardat-lili is from Ardatû, which is a young unmarried woman or maiden, also sometimes a title of prostitutes, and lilitû. These "maiden liltû" would come to men in their sleep and beget children from them.Sick men would also be described as being seized by Ardat-lili. Their male counterparts, similar to an incubus were the Irdû-lili. These demons were originally storm and wind demons; however, later etymology made them into night demons.

Albanians of Turkish descent who become into vampires upon their deaths are driven to go out at night in a shroud and high heel shoes to spread death and destructions. The location of their tombs can be incated by a will-o'-the-wisp.

Lugat / Kukuthi

Lugat is a vampire that was invulnerable to any form of attack humans could use. Only wolves could inflict harm onto them. The Lugat feeds on the living, but the act of feeding does not kill the victim.

Some of the northern Albanian mountain tribes had the belief that an undead vampire, which they call either a Kukuthi or a Lugat grows stronger with time until. After thirty years, when it reachs a final stage where he is no longer required to return to its grave and can live in a home during the day just like a human.

It travels alot under a disguise of a merchant. Before the lapse of the thirty year period following burial, the vampire can be destroyed in its grave by such means as driving a stake through its heart, cutting the tendons behind the knee caps (ham stringing), and especially cremation which is most recommended.

The Kukuthi or Lugat can only be destroyed by a wolf. This is done by when if you can get the wolf to bite away the vampire's legs off. The vampire would then retreats to his grave and never leaves it again. Some Albanians share the names Vrykolakas and Vorkolak with their Greek and Macedonian neighbors and also the beliefs that go with them.

Sampiro

Sampiro is another vampire in Albanian lore. Which stalks its victims wearing heeled shoes and a shroud.

The Sampiro rises from its grave shortly after it's internment, about 3-4 hours. It rises dressed in its grave shroud, and is described in all of the folklore wearing high heels with large, bright glowing eyes.

Sampiro cannot walk too well on the high heels and hence it "toddles" after it's victim (which in the beginning of it's "career" tends to be close family members or other loved ones) in an unbalanced kind of way. If they are lucky enough to catch their victim, then it means certain death. If their victim gets away, they have been known to stop at cottages and homes along the way and peer into windows. It is said that if the gaze of their strange glowing eyes falls on any people in that home, those people will come down with an illness, sometimes a fatal one, within days. In this way, the Sampiro is in fact more virulent than other vampires since they can make entire households fatally ill just by walking after one victim and then walking back to return to their grave site.

Albanian people believed that any person with any Turkish blood in them would become a Sampiro. Another interesting note, says that a Sampiro was able to flush out a "real" vampire therefore sometimes people that were half Albanian/half Turkish made a living by being "vampire hunters", believing that after death, they would become a Sampiro. Usually they had arrangements made for decapitation special burial rites with their village priest for the time of their death to save them from this fate and ensure their way to heaven.

Egypt

Egyptian Vampires are pretty much like a god to generalize it. Some of the Mummies can be a Half Vampire and some of the Vampires can be a half Mummy! They do have a few. The below will be as follows.

The Astral Being

The Ancient Egyptians had Ka being referenced as an astral being. Ka was believed to be supervising entity for all human mortality and the ancient egyptians viewed Ka as a spiritual double that continue to exist after death among the living.

A guide in the physical world, so as to speak. The translation of death in ancient Egypt was "going to one's Ka. The ba, or soul of a human, remained very close with the Ka" in burial. Burying the dead was of religious concern in Egypt, and Egyptian funerary rituals and equipment eventually became the most elaborate the world has ever known. The Egyptians believed that the vital life-force was composed of several psychical elements, of which the most important was the ka. The ka, a duplicate of the body, accompanied the body throughout life and, after death, departed from the body to take its place in the kingdom of the dead.

The ka, however, could not exist without the body; every effort had to be made, therefore, to preserve the corpse. Bodies were embalmed and mummified according to a traditional method supposedly begun by Isis, who mummified her husband Osiris. In addition, wood or stone replicas of the body were put into the tomb in the event that the mummy was destroyed. The greater the number of statue-duplicates in his or her tomb, the more chances the dead person had of resurrection.

As a final protection, exceedingly elaborate tombs were erected to protect the corpse and its equipment. Offerings of physical sustenance, (food, wine, etc) where conducted daily. These offerings were to ensure that the Ka did not have to wander to other sites in search of sustenance. The idea that the Ka leaving the tomb could perhaps be the basis of the popular belief that vampires originated from Egypt.

Osiris The King of Egypt and Vampire God



Egyptian Civilization had their vampires held in high regards and some of them became kings and were depicted among Egyptian art together with the 2 other races of Cat people and warewolves. Many times, these powerful races were mistaken as gods for their features and powers. Humans recognized the werewolves Anubis and Ammut and the felines Sekmet and Bastet among the beings that worked with vampires during that time.

One of the most popular of vampires of time was Osiris. Osiris and his brother Set were abandoned by their vampire parents and had them left with humans who practiced magic. Their foster parents raised these two vampires together with their two human daughters, Isis and Nephytus teaching them all the ways of magic. Osiris used his magic and abilities to bring agricultural to the humans of Egypt. He was appointed King of Egypt and ruled with Isis as his wife.

So jealous was Set of Osiris that he had seeked to have greater powers. This Evil vampire Set used his magic to create lower grade vampires by infecting humans. Set and his vampires plotted and murdered Osiris to take the throne of Egypt. Isis began a quest to resurrect Osiris from the dead while their son, Horus, seeked vengence against Set.

To assist Horus in the war against Set, a powerful sun sorcerer named Ra placed a curse on the infected human-vampires of Set. With the lower grades vampires cursed from sunlight, Horus was able to defeat Set's armies and battle Set one-on-one. Isis brought Osiris back from the dead through magic but he had however became bound to the Netherworld.

Osiris from then on became known to humans as lord of the Underworld. Through Osiris the vampire race can tap into the powers of the Netherworld. Horus continued to establish Egypt giving pharoahs power to rule

Many cults began in Egypt that continued to worship the magic in the land. One of these factions were created by the vampire Priest who was mistaken for the Egyptian god of wisdom Thoth. This Vampire Priest kept the Book of the Dead and found ways of sanctifying vampires with magic and mummification. With the vampire Lazarus, they learned the ways of allowing vampires to slumber without feeding from human blood.

Many of the master vampires use these techniques founded by this Vampire Priest and Lazarus to hibernate until a time comes for them to be awaken. Through magic other vampires such as Igneous and Goliath found ways of increasing the defenses of vampires while they slumber to ensure protection if the werewolf race would ever turn.

Sekhmet Vampire Warrior Goddess



In Egypt, there was a goddess by the name of Sekhmet which had a reputation for drinking blood. Early records had showned that Sekhmet was a warrior Goddess. She was being depicted as a lioness and was known as the most fearless hunters Egyptians had ever known.

Legend has it that her breath was responsible for creating the desert. Overall, the pharaohs saw her as their protector and when it came time to enter war and other battles, it was she who delivered guidance.

A cult emerged in Egypt devoted to Sekhmet. It grew to the point that it was so prominent that when the first pharaoh of the 12th dynasty Amenemhat, shifted the capital of Egypt to Itjtawy, the center for her cult was also moved. During ancient Egyptian days, religion, governing powers, and the royal bloodlines were all linked in some way over the course of 3,000 years.

Besides a Warrior Goddess, Sekhmet was also known as a solar deity, which is why she is sometimes shown wearing a solar disk. Because of these associations, she is connected to justice and keeping order. The color red is prominent in visual records of the goddess, as she is dressed in the color – a direct connection to blood. Other links to this goddess include the goddesses Hathor and Bast, and the Eye of Horus, which served as an ancient Egyptian symbol of deity protection and royal power.

When it came to the power of Sekhmet, she was known to bring disease, but also provided ways to cure sickness. Physicians and surgeons during the Middle Kingdom were sometimes made reference to the goddess. In the past, it was not uncommon to see priests associated with Sekhmet as being on the same level as doctors.

In an attempt to appease this goddess, festivals were celebrated at the end of battles, in hopes that destruction would befall their opponents. Annual festivals were held at the start of each year, where drinking to the point of intoxication was quite common. Dancing and the playing of music helped strike up the mood. It was believed that these actions could tame the wild streak of the goddess.
