DADU, Nov 29: Fear and bewilderment overtook some parts of Dadu district after some mysterious objects fell on a number of villages late on Wednesday night.
The biggest fragment weighing 187 kilograms fell on a ground in Allah Jurio Lund village, 30 kilometres from Dadu. Other pieces fell on Pir Mashaikh, Shehak Rodnani and Khandhani villages.
There were no injuries or damage to property.
(According to news agencies, military authorities took possession of the “heavy pieces of engine and other metallic objects, believed to be splinters of a satellite or missile”.
An Army team, headed by Commanding Officer of Hyderabad, Col. Mushtaque, arrived in Dadu on Thursday and started investigation after taking two pieces of the object).
Sain Bux Loond, a villager, told journalists that he was at his home when a loud bang drew him outside. “First I couldn’t make head or tail of the scene before my eyes. After gathering my wits I dashed to the police station and told them what I had seen,” Loond said.

Rare Snow in North Africa Algeria
Snow made a rare appearance in Algiers, the capital city of Algeria.
Cold air associated with a storm system diving into northern Africa provided for some decent accumulations of snow in the north African country.

According to Accuweather Meteorologist Eric Wanenchak, most reports say the last time Algiers saw this kind of accumulation was at least seven years ago in 2005.

Snow in South Africa August 2012
An extreme cold snap covered large swaths of South Africa with snow on Tuesday, the first time in years as much of the cold stuff has fallen there.
In fact, it has snowed in Johannesburg, South Africa on only 22 other days in 103 years, The Associated Press reported.
The South Africa Weather Service said heavy snowfall fell on the Western Cape Mountains, Eastern Cape high ground, Lesotho and Drakensburg.
Parts of central and northern Freestate province, as well as in southern areas of the province Gauteng, have seen light snowfall.
It brought office workers outside to take pictures, catch snowflakes on their tongues and slide down snow-covered hills using cardboard for sleds.
But it also closed roads or snared and slowed traffic.
Flakes started falling early Tuesday and by the afternoon, eight of the country’s nine provinces reported snow.
The ninth, Limpopo, hadn’t issued an official report, but the South African Weather Service said satellite imagery showed it had likely fallen there as well, spokeswoman Kenosi Machepa told the AP.
“It’s difficult to gauge how much snow has fallen as we don’t really measure snowfall in South Africa, but it’s more than we have had since 2008,” forecaster Venetia Phakula said, the Mail & Guardian reported.
Johannesburg appears to have received the brunt of the extreme weather, while US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s African trip continued in a snowy Pretoria.
This much snow hasn’t fallen in Joburg since 1981, and it hasn’t snowed in Pretoria since 1968,SouthAfrica.info reported.

Snowing Penang
PENANG: People may have said you were crazy, but if you thought you saw flecks of snow during the downpour here yesterday morning, you are not alone.
Executive Marina Ab. Jalil, who works on the 12th floor of Menara BHL on Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, was called back to her office to witness the ‘strange phenomenon’.
“My boss, who comes from Beijing, called me to tell me that he and another colleague were seeing snow out the window.
“I was driving at the time and thought he was joking. Since when does it snow in Malaysia? However, when I got back to the office, I did see white things falling with the rain,” she said.
Marina, 36, described the falling particles as dust-like with a cotton texture.

Snowing in Kuching Malaysia 4th July 2012 ?
Hail or snow ... an unusual weather phenomenon in Malaysia. Who would have guessed that it would snow in Malaysia (Kuching) on the 4th of July, 2012?
I rushed out to collect the laundry, and the strange sound attracted my attention. This is the view taken from an upstairs room overlooking my neighbour's rooftop.

With the cool atmosphere surrounding Malaysia, it’s expected that snow will occur soon. Local scientists said that frequent drops of temperature will eventually lead to a new season in Malaysia – Winter!
According to a local weather specialist, Ken Wooi of Malaysian Meteorological Department, the Malaysia climate change has been drastic these days. “It’s always cool, cloudy sky and little sun ray. I think it’s gonna snow!”
As a result of this research, precautions have been taken to prevent transportation disruptions in Malaysia. Albeit the lack of experience when dealing with Winter, the Ministry of Defense released a statement: “Malaysia Boleh Survive!”

Morning shower paints rural Kannur red
KANNUR: Though not for first time in the state, red rain in parts of Kannur on Thursday did create some panic and curiosity among the residents in the district. The strange phenomenon happened around 6:50am and lasted for 15 minutes. People in the 1km area in and around Edachery in Puzhati panchayat panicked as their courtyards turned blood red after rain.
Kannur block panchayat president Shaija M, who collected the sample of the rainwater, said the water was as dark as black coffee and had the smell of raw beetroot. "I thought someone killed some animal and its blood got mixed with water on the courtyard," she said. Akshay Sajeevan, another resident in the locality, said in his compound the colour of rainwater was a bit lighter. According to meteorological department, though red rain is a rare phenomenon, but it is no way harmful. "I assume this is due to atmospheric pollution. The pollutants in the air get dissolved in rainwater resulting in red rain," said M Santhosh, director of meteorological department, Thiruvananthapuram.

The Extraordinary Tale of Red Rain, Comets and Extraterrestrials
Panspermia is the idea that life exists throughout the universe in comets, asteroids and interstellar dust clouds and that life of Earth was seeded from one or more of these sources. Panspermia holds that we are all extraterrestrials.
While this is certainly not a mainstream idea in science, a growing body of evidence suggests that it should be carefully studied rather than casually disregarded.
For example, various bugs have been shown to survive for months or even years in the harsh conditions of space. And one of the more interesting but lesser known facts about the Mars meteorite that some scientists believe holds evidence of life on Mars, is that its interior never rose above 50 degrees centigrade, despite being blasted from the Martian surface by an meteor impact and surviving a fiery a descent through Earth's thick atmosphere.
If there is life up there, this evidence suggests that it could survive the trip to Earth.
All that seems well established. Now for the really controversial stuff.
In 2001, numerous people observed red rain falling over Kerala in the southern tip of India during a two month period. One of them was Godfrey Louis, a physicist at nearby Cochin University of Science and Technology. Intrigued by this phenomena, Louis collected numerous samples of red rain, determined to find out what was causing the contamination, perhaps sand or dust from some distant desert.
Under a microscope, however, he found no evidence of sand or dust. Instead, the rain water was filled with red cells that look remarkably like conventional bugs on Earth. What was strange was that Louis found no evidence of DNA in these cells which would rule out most kinds of known biological cells (red blood cells are one possibility but ought to be destroyed quickly by rain water).
Louis published his results in the peer-reviewed journal Astrophysics and Space in 2006, along with the tentative suggestion that the cells could be extraterrestrial, perhaps from a comet that had disintegrated in the upper atmosphere and then seeded clouds as the cells floated down to Earth. In fact, Louis says there were reports in the region of a sonic boom-type noise at the time, which could have been caused by the disintegration of an object in the upper atmosphere.
Since then, Louis has continued to study the cells with an international team including Chandra Wickramasinghe from the University of Cardiff in the UK and one of the leading proponents of the panspermia theory, which he developed in the latter half of the 20th century with the remarkable physicist Fred Hoyle.

Strange Sounds In The Sky All Around The World
Do you have an explanation for all of the strange sounds in the sky that have been documented all around the world lately? Over the past few weeks, Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere have been absolutely buzzing about these strange sounds. At the moment, they remain a great mystery because nobody can seem to explain them. Some are calling them "apocalyptic sounds". Whatever they are, they are very loud.
Those that have heard the unexplained sounds in the sky compare them to the rumbling of a train, a sonic boom or a trumpet. In this article, we will discuss some of the most popular theories about these sounds, but the truth is that right now nobody really knows what is going on. But what we can say is that this is truly a global phenomenon. Strange sounds in the sky are being recorded literally all over the world and are being uploaded to YouTube at a very rapid pace. If someone was trying to fake this, it would be quite difficult to get people all over the planet to cooperate. In some instances, entire communities have heard these sounds.

It's raining fish! It's normal
The story on "fish falling from the sky" in Agusan del Sur was generally met with disbelief across social networking sites. Some Facebook users, however, offered possible explanations – ranging from logical to supernatural.
Some said the fish might have fallen from a passing aircraft. Yet some believed the incident was a sign that the world is coming to an end.
But fish falling from the sky is not supernatural nor is it doomsday's beckoning. It actually has a name: Lluvia de Peces.
Residents of Loreto town in Agusan del Sur experienced this phenomenon Friday morning when dozens of 3-inch-long mudfish rained on them. PAGASA-Butuan Chief Engr. Lolit Binalay told Bombo Radyo a similar incident had happened in Lake Mainit in Agusan del Norte a few years back.
The same thing happened to a village in Powys, Wales in 2004 and to Folsom, California in 2006, among reported others.
How does it happen? Whirlwinds over water develop into waterspouts and become a swirling force that can suck in almost anything of the water's content: fish, eels, and even frogs.
According to American scientist Nilton Renno, fish can "fly" into the sky along with the waterspout. He told Scienceline.org that "even if the waterspout stops spinning, the fish in the cloud can be carried over land, buffeted up and down and around."
Loreto residents said they were surprised by the phenomenon because the sea and the river are far from their place. But according to Renno, fish can "swim" in the clouds and reach places until the wind can no longer support its flight, and that's when they come down.
The fish are sometimes taken so high into the atmosphere that they land dead.
Seventy-two of the fish that fell on Agusan del Sur survived the "journey" and have been placed by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources personnel in an aquarium for experts to study.
The Philippines may not hear of it often as it is an uncommon phenomenon. But 'fish rains' have been reported for centuries.
According to a BBC report, "fish are the most common thing to have rained down on you – other than rain itself, of course." People have heard of frogs, tomatoes, and lumps of coals falling from the sky in few bizarre instances.
Weather has been inclement in Agusan del Sur since the past week, marked with a downpour on Friday that BFAR believes may have triggered the formation of a waterspout.

Water spout spotted heading towards Tuas

A water spout was seen over the waters near Johor Baru.
It seemed to be moving in the direction of Tuas, said a witness.
The netizen, Mr Lim, sent in photos of the sight to citizen journalism site Stomp.
He said the water spout took around five minutes to move.
A water spout is a funnel-shaped vortex over water.
It is connected to a cloud and is usually weaker than its land counterparts such as tornadoes.

The Mystery of Ball Lightning

Much of what we call "paranormal" are facets or properties of the natural world that we do not yet understand. And although ball lighting is not usually considered a paranormal phenomenon - and is almost certainly a natural phenomenon - its mysterious nature has puzzled scientists and paranormal researchers alike for centuries.
There currently is no fully satisfactory or generally accepted scientific theory for ball lightning, mainly because it is so rare, and when it does occur it doesn't stay around long enough to be studied; it generally has a lifetime of less than five seconds. According to one researcher, "ball lightning is the name given to the mobile luminous spheres which have been observed during thunderstorms. Visual sightings are often accompanied by sound, odor, and permanent material damage." Many scientists still deny its existence, but there are so many eyewitness accounts of the phenomenon that it's difficult to deny its reality.
It's these personal encounters with ball lighting that have given it its mysterious reputation. Many eyewitnesses describe its movement or "behavior" as seemingly intelligent, as if it knows where it wants to go. When it enters houses, it often enters through doorways or windows and travels down hallways. But people tend to personify such peculiar events and it's ludicrous to think that the balls of light have any intelligence, but the anecdotes are no less intriguing.
Here are some fascinating first-hand accounts.
Unusual Experiences with Lighting includes many strange reports, including these two accounts:
In January 1984, ball lightning measuring about 4 inches in diameter entered a Russian passenger aircraft and, according to the Russian news release, "flew above the heads of the stunned passengers. In the tail section of the airliner, it divided into two glowing crescents which then joined together again and left the plane almost noiselessly." The ball lightning left two holes in the plane.
A "ball of sparks" about the size of a basketball entered a commercial aircraft, apparently through an engine airtake, moved into the fuselage, and proceeded to chase a flight attendant up and down the aisle. She was screaming as she tried to outrun the ball lightning. It dissipated quickly before striking her.
Glenn R. Frazier relates at incident at his grandfather's cottage in upstate Pennsylvania:
"I was sitting on a screened porch. I remember a brilliant flash of lightning and a large clap of thunder. Seconds later, my mother screamed. My grandfather and I turned to look in through the doorway and saw what looked like a ball of electricity coming down the hallway from the back door. It was about the size of a basketball and had an off-yellow kind of haze. It sounded like a large stream of water coming through a faucet. When it got to the kitchen area, it flickered and flashed a little brighter, and then was gone."
Bill Melfi was on vacation on a small farm in Tennessee when he had this experience:
"I saw two balls of light, one about three feet and the other about four feet in diameter. They were glowing with a blue-green light that was about as bright as a 50-watt bulb and translucent as a balloon. They moved side by side, the larger one leading. The movement was quick and somewhat zigzag. I chased after it with a stick in hand, but they were faster than me. They didn't break up, just disappeared in the woods."

Massive eruptions with static discharge lightning Sakurajima Volcano in Japan on Aug 28 and Sep 1, 2011
Sakurajima volcano in Japan usually shows activity, however large explosions from the caldera like this are more rare.
You can clearly see the lava missiles/projectiles/meteors erupt thousands of feet in the air.
The cars below on the highway are safely out of the way, nonetheless this eruption is a large one.
The first massive eruption happened on Augsut 28, 2011
The second massive eruption happened on Sept 1, 2011 sometimes with very impressive lava flows, or explosions… on the rare occasion you get to see the lightning associated with static discharge and friction in the atmosphere.

The cars below on the highway are safely out of the way, nonetheless this eruption is a large one.

The second massive eruption happened on Sept 1, 2011 sometimes with very impressive lava flows, or explosions… on the rare occasion you get to see the lightning associated with static discharge and friction in the atmosphere.
