More than 100 people witnessed what may be an exorcism in a well known temple yesterday. A young attractive woman had scrambled into the well known Kwan Im Temple at Waterloo Street yesterday (10 feb) at noon, complaining of being "cursed".

Eyewitnesses say the woman, a Vietnamese, knelt in the centre of the red carpet in the temple's main hall and began to pray fervently. The woman, claiming to be under a "love spell", began to kowtow and even began wailing for the next two hours while begging for help.

Five temple priests approached her and performed what appeared to be an exorcism before a crowd of about 100 curious onlookers. The woman was said to be spasming and shaking her head violently, until the" exorcism ritual" was completed about four hours later.

"Good Brother" visit at night

by The SAF Regular

I've got a couple of stories to share, some told to me and just a couple that happened to me.

Here's one that was related to me one boring night during outfield.

My platoonmate has a friend, A, who had one of his arms amputated at the elbow, right or left I don't really remember, and it doesn't really matter anyway.

During his NS days, A had a good friend, B, who was his section mate, and they lived pretty close to each other, so A normally got a ride home from B on his motorbike when they booked out together.

One Thursday night, A woke up in the middle of the night, and saw one of the "good brothers" (a spirit) standing over B's bed, staring intently at B.

Freaked out, A covered his head with his blanket and pretended to go to sleep, uneasily waiting for dawn to approach and thaw the freezing chill he felt up his spine.

On Friday, during bookout day,A gets a ride home from B as usual. A had been struggling whether or not to tell B about what he saw last night, but decided not to. What B didn't know wouldn't hurt him, right?

The entrance/exit to their camp leads to a T junction, where they normally turned right to head home. Approaching the T, A could see a lorry trundling along its way on the right. Strange thing was, B did not slow down.

While executing the turn, they were hit by the lorry. B was killed and A landed in hospital a mangled wreck, where they had to amputate his arm.

A had another friend, C, who visited him in hospital. C's mother was a "dang kee" (a temple medium), and naturally was well informed in matters regarding the spiritual world.

After A told C about the apparition he saw that night, C said "You should have told him. The 'good brother' wasn't trying to harm B. Rather, it was kind of saying 'Hmmm.... This guy would be joining us soon.'. By telling B, you would have broken the premonition."

A chain of events might have been set in motion, where B might not have rode his bike and not gotten into the accident in the end.

But we will never ever know.

Vampires in Chinese Mythology

Source: Yumao Wu, Copyright 2011

The Chinese vampire differs greatly from its western cousins. In Chinese mythology, all empires originated from one of the 12 gods, which came from 12 drops of blood from PANGU, the great god who created sky and earth. Chinese vampire, according their different growing stage, can be divided into six levels.

Chinese Vampire Level 1

When corpse entered suitable vampire-breeding location for 1 month. It began growing white hair and also be called white vampire. At this stage, vampire can not move quickly, can easily be killed. Level 1 vampires dread sunshine, fire, water, rooster, dog and let alone human beings.
Personally, I think level 1 vampire can serve as a meek pet.

Chinese Vampire Level 2

If a level 1 vampire have plenty of blood of ox or sheep, years later, white hair peels off and a layer of black hair will emerge. Level 2 vampire is still afraid of sunlight and fire. But a vampire at this period can boldly confront rooster and dog. Level 2 vampire will avoid human beings, and only drink people’s blood once victim fall asleep.

Chinese Vampire Level 3

After a half decade of blood drinking and white hair falling off, a vampire can change from an award movement to a dangerously swift bouncing pattern and no longer dreads any domestic animals, with only cats being an exception that can still warn humans of the presence of a Level 3 vampire by growling at it. It appears cats can provide limited help fighting against Level 3 creature.

Chinese Vampire Level 4

Through hundreds of years of growth, a vampire enters its Level 4, at this level a vampire has the the ability to fly, a dangerous skill that means the creature can jump onto a roof effortlessly and drink a man’s blood unnoticed.

Chinese Vampire Level 5

A level 5 is almost demigod, and he can transform into forms of any creature to confuse human beings, fly up into heaven to slaughter dragon and even gang up with plague GOD to bring disease to human.

Chinese Vampire Level 6

At this phase, vampire is more of a god than a demon, for level 6 vampire have the guts and terrifying ability to challenge any God in heaven. A legend goes that once there appeared an only Level 6 vampire in China, and fortunately, it soon be subdued by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and served as his saddle horse for ever.

DNA Discoveries of Russia Explains Human 'Paranormal' Events ( ДНК Открытия Россия объясняет события «паранормальные» человека)

The human DNA is a biological Internet and superior in many aspects to the artificial one. The latest Russian scientific research directly or indirectly explains phenomena such as clairvoyance, intuition, spontaneous and remote acts of healing, self healing, affirmation techniques, unusual light/auras around people (namely spiritual masters), mindâ¬"s influence on weather patterns and much more According to there findings, our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body but also serves as data storage and communication.

The Russian linguists found that the genetic code - especially in the apparent "useless" 90% - follows the same rules as all our human languages. To this end they compared the rules of syntax (the way in which words are put together to form phrases and sentences), semantics (the study of meaning in language forms) and the basic rules of grammar. They found that the alkalines of our DNA follow a regular grammar and do have set rules just like our languages.

Therefore, human languages did not appear coincidentally but are a reflection of our inherent DNA. As an example from nature, when a queen ant is separated from her colony, the remaining worker ants will continue building fervently according to plan. However, if the queen is killed, all work in the colony stops. No ant will know what to do. Apparently, the queen transmits the "building plans" even if far away - via the group consciousness with her subjects. She can be as far away as she wants, as long as she is alive. In humans, hyper-communication is most often encountered when one suddenly gains access to information that is outside one's knowledge base.

Such hyper-communication is then experienced as inspiration or intuition (also in trance channeling). The Italian composer Giuseppe Tartini, for instance, dreamt one night that a devil sat at his bedside playing the violin. The next morning Tartini was able to note down the piece exactly from memory. He called it the Devil's Trill Sonata.

Two archaeological sites surveyed on Mount Ararat

CAMBRIDGE, MA.- Harvard University educated archaeologist and director of the Paleontological Research Corporation, Dr. Joel Klenck, surveyed and completed a preliminary analysis of two sites on Mount Ararat in Turkey discovered by a Kurdish guide, Ahmet Ertugrul. “The research areas are noteworthy”, states Klenck, “and comprise a large wood structure and cave with an archaeological assemblage that appears to be mostly from the Late Epipaleolithic Period.” These assemblages at other sites in the Near East have calibrated radiocarbon dates between 13,100 and 9,600 B.C.

Located at elevations above 4,200 meters on Mount Ararat and covered by layers of ice and stones, he states: “The wood structure shows various states of preservation and exhibits a wide array of plant materials including structures made of cypress and one room with a floor covered by chickpea seeds.” Klenck additionally notes, “I was most impressed by the artifactual assemblage, particularly four stone bowls, grinding or hammer stones, lithic cores and debitage.”

It also appears that the wood construction was visited in later periods. Ceramic bowls from Chalcolithic (5,800-3,000 B.C.) and Bronze Age (3,000-1,200 B.C.) periods were placed in or near the structure. He adds, “These artifacts most likely represent brief visits to the site during later periods since these bowls differ from the Epipaleolithic remains that comprise most of the assemblage.”

Klenck reports, “The surface scatter of the wood above the large structure is 121.1 meters in length and 23.8 meters in width. The construction is at least 5.2 meters deep and several measurements of the exterior walls exhibit angles moving inward toward the base of the edifice. Also, there are stair-like features that descend through the middle of the multi-storied structure and mortise-and-tenon construction.” He notes, “The structure is buried under tons of stones and ice and most of the edifice remains unexplored.”

The walking corpse of Toraja

Zombies, walking corpses and the power of giving life to the dead are things from fiction, right? Well, what do you think about this picture?

From what I could find, this picture was first present in this indonesian blog mamasa-online.blogspot.com... wich talks about a personal story involving the walking corpses of Tojara, Indonesia. But only recently the picture is gaining attention, making presence in many blogs and forums with the following text:

Only in Indonesia (especially Toraja), a corpse is usually being carried up to the grave, but in Toraja, the corpse is woken up letting it walk to its grave (is rarely performed anymore)

The corpse is woken up using black magic. This is done because in Toraja the graves/cemetries is placed above limestones mountains.

The corpse walks by itself, and its guided by an expert in black magic behind it. But there is one prohibition, the corpse shouldn’t be appointed, once pointed, the corpse falls down and isn’t able to walk again.

My Ghost Hero

Oregon note: The following story has been edited for correctness and clarity.

This is a reader contribution from our reader, Patricia, who can be reached at orchidance3@aol.com

This is an interesting account of how a voice warned Patricia of an hostile intruder. Was it divine intervention or help from the nether world?

I am now 55 years old, mother of 4, and this is an absolutely true story of an event that happened to me fifty years ago at age 15. Due to family problems, I was forced to run away from home and moved from place to place, wherever I could find shelter in my hometown. I did volunteer work for a local community program who eventually purchased an old house for the purpose of making a new community center and health clinic.

Prior to the work being done to renovate it, I was secretly given permission to stay there at night. It was an old house, formerly the home of a man and woman who owned a liquor store on the property next door. The wife of liquor store owner had been killed in a home invasion robbery and consequently the husband sold the property and store as a result. I was too young to know of the incident, or when it occurred, I simply learned of this through rumors.

So each night I would go to the property to sleep, as it had a furnished bedroom and oddly enough i seemed to feel comfortable there. One thing I did notice is that my bedroom always seemed warm and cozy even though it was the dead of winter and the home did not have any heat. The electricity was working because work was about to be started on the building but I also noticed that my bedroom seemed highly illuminated, overly bright.

One night I arrived to bed down accompanied by a friend who offered to stay with me until I was ready to go to sleep. After a short while, my friend left and I started to go to sleep. All of a sudden I heard a frantic voice say "get up and check the door". Being rather sleepy, I dismissed it at the time thinking it was my imagination. I do not know if I heard it with my ears, or in my mind. At which point, the voice became more frantic saying "hurry, hurry, he's getting in, hurry check the doors". This time I sprung from the bed without much thought of where the voice came from and ran down the staircase in total panic and fear.

As if being lead by someone, I ran straight into the kitchen, and to my horror, I saw a hand reaching through a broken window pane, attempting to undo a chain latch lock on the inside. Without thinking I reached down on the floor and picked up a piece of metal piping that was left there from renovations being done on the room, and proceeded to beat the hand that was reaching in. I hit it several times before the person managed to pull it out because the window pane was very small and he had difficulty in his panic, removing his hand. I heard the person yell and run off.

As the person passed by a floodlight in the rear parking lot, I recognized him as the only known heroin addict in our town. I had difficulty sleeping that night but eventually I was overcome by the warmth of my room and a feeling of comfort and safety and drifted off to sleep. I did not believe in ghosts but I have no other explanation for the woman's voice that franticly urged me on. I think she it was the wife of the liquor store owner and did not want what happened to her to happen to me. I just know that I will be forever grateful to whoever or whatever it was.

Hantu Jepun – one of the many mysterious military spirits

By Susan Tam

Paranormal researcher Arwin John's take on spirits is that spirits emit electromagnetic waves that could be detected with specially designed instruments.

A firm believer in science, and a brave man, Arwin who is the founder of Malaysian Paranormal Research, tells Yahoo! Malaysia of his own encounter with the spiritual kind at a Chinese cemetery in Gunung Rapat. During an investigation in the middle of the night, he saw a little girl who vanished into thin air once he realised she wasn't human.

He now works with an affiliate in Germany, studying the phenomenon on how spirits exist and how he and the team could make contact with the afterlife.

"We find that when spirits die, some times they are still anchored to their physical memory," he explained, which is a likely explanation of one of the more famous ghosts in Malaysia, the spirit of Japanese soldiers.

The ghost of the Japanese soldier or Hantu Jepun refers to wandering spirits of dead Japan military personnel, who was once stationed in Malaysia, and around the Southeast Asian region during World War 2.

These spirits are often seen wandering in full uniform, bearing arms or swords, or in a more terrifying state - walking around headless or carrying its head. The spirits tend to appear in buildings, cemeteries and hostels which were once used as Japanese bases.

At times, sightings of the Hantu Jepun are described as scenes of Japanese soldiers lining up in formation or marching to attention.

This explains the sounds of marching boots in most, if not all of the Hantu Jepun stories shared by the Malaysian community as well as those who encounter the spirits all across Southeast Asia.
Some people believe that the appearance of this ghost evokes feelings of loneliness, death, cruelty, torment and fear.
