Part 4 - Aggressive and Strong Zombies

In recent years, Hollywood has given rise to a new breed of zombies - the ultra strong and aggressive type. Tradition now gives way to new ideas where the human victim did not reanimate as a corpse (in the sense that they were already dead), but gets turned into a zombie while still human.

The usual sources for the infection include Viruses, Aliens, Occult magic or some movies simply just ignore the source and dives straight into the action - that there is no explanation for the cause.

In 28 Days Later and the sequel 28 Weeks Later, the zombies are not the usual rotting, mindless walking corpses but rather, humans who were infected by a "Rage Virus" which gives them uncontrollable rage, aggression and an insatiable thirst for human blood.

They run, hunt and chase after the normal humans. These zombies act like your typical madman.

In the British film, The Devil's Playground, England was hit by a massive infection by a experimental virus. The infected quickly develop a taste for human flesh and they somehow acquire extra mobility and agility to hunt for their prey.

In actual fact, Parkour practitioners were actually recruited to depict these super mobile zombies in the film.

In computer games like Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty: Zombies, the zombies are also depicted in a aggressive and mobile manner. This is to instill a greater sense of action and fear in the game for the player. What fun would there be if you just fought mindless, limping zombies? They would just stand there and stare at you, waiting to be shot.

Whatever it is, it seems like zombies are here to stay. In recent years, a resurgence of zombie movies have occurred. As part of this resurgence, there have been numerous direct-to-video (or DVD) zombie movies made by extremely low-budget filmmakers using digital video. These can usually be found for sale online from the distributors themselves, rented in video rental stores or released internationally in such places as Thailand.

A USA Today review noted that "Zombie hordes are everywhere!" Especially on screen and on stage, "There's no stopping the zombie invasion."

Alionshenka the Alien

Mysterious dwarfish alien brutally murdered in Russia's remote village

Researchers looking into the case of “Alionshenka the Alien” have arrived at a sensational conclusion: the mysterious creature did not catch his death of cold as previously thought. They believe the supposed alien was killed.

“He didn’t die from natural causes,” said Vadim Chernobrov, a coordinator with the public research center Kosmopoisk. “We found out that his skull had been fractured,” Chernobrov added.

The mysterious dwarf was found near the town of Kyshtym of the Chelyabinsk region. Stanislav Samoshkin is a morbid anatomist who performed autopsy on the body of the dwarf in a local hospital. He was the first to claim that the creature was a non-human being.

“The human skull consists of six bones. The skull of that creature was made up of four bones,” Samoshkin said.

Russian and foreign researchers have been trying to unravel the mystery of the “Uralian alien” for eleven years. The story looks like a detective novel in progress. The body of the dwarf was reportedly stolen. The key witness to the case, an old woman who actually named the dwarf “Alioshenka”, died a sudden death.

NSP Goh Meng Seng claims he has seen UFO

Goh Meng Seng, the Secretary-General of the National Solidarity Party (NSP) has admitted that he is a firm believer of UFO/alien and claims that he has personally seen an alien craft.

In an article published on sgpolitics on 3rd January 2011, Mr Goh, who recently sold his HDB flat to fund his election campaign claims that he has seen the alien craft in 1999 and described the said object as “no human technology can explain or did what that object did”.

According to him, the said oval shape object “looks like a glowing white cloud floating in the air. It was floating just outside my windows. I was watching TV at that time.”

He added:

"It caught my eyes because of its “glowing” nature and the way it moved, in a slow and steady movement which somehow looked “unnatural” to me. I tried to take a closer by moving to the window. Just a minute later, it just zipped and zoomed out of my sight within a blink of my eyes… I believe no human technology could make any object to move at such a great speed.

Such image is still imprinted in my mind deeply. Just too bad I didn’t have any video camera back then to record the whole process. From then on, I always keep an open mind about UFO sightings. Some UFO sighting reports around the world coincide with my own witnessing experience… such objects just zip and zoom out of sight within seconds.

Whether or not this news about the three gigantic spaceship is real, I really don’t know. Top travel from Earth to Pluto or Jupiter by a normal human space exploration crafts will take years… tens of years. If it takes only 2 years to reach Earth, it is already traveling at 20 times or more than human technology could do.

Keep an open mind. In my opinion, there are two types of UFOs on Earth. Some are human made, by some countries like America or Russia. But these are the ones which could just fly at “normal” speed due to technological limitations. They may be in saucer shape, have the ability to hover around etc but do not have the technology of traveling at the speed of light. Those which could do that, most probably are alien types."

This writer is unable to confirm if the said object was indeed an alien craft or some un-manned drone sent by the ruling party to spy on Mr Goh prior to the General election.

Scientists find evidence for 'chronesthesia,' or mental time travel

(PhysOrg.com) -- The ability to remember the past and imagine the future can significantly affect a person's decisions in life. Scientists refer to the brain’s ability to think about the past, present, and future as "chronesthesia," or mental time travel, although little is known about which parts of the brain are responsible for these conscious experiences. In a new study, researchers have used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the neural correlates of mental time travel and better understand the nature of the mental time in which the metaphorical "travel" occurs.

The researchers, Lars Nyberg from Umea University in Umea, Sweden; Reza Habib from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois; and Alice S. N. Kim, Brian Levine, and Endel Tulving from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, have published their results in a recent issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"Mental time travel consists of two independent sets of processes: (1) those that determine the contents of any act of such ‘travel’: what happens, who are the 'actors,' where does the action occur; it is similar to the contents of watching a movie – everything that you see on the screen; and (2) those that determine the subjective moment of time in which the action takes place – past, present, or future," Tulving told PhysOrg.com.

Over 100,000 fish have been found washed up on the river banks on a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River, near Ozark.

Cat Predicts Deaths At Steere House Nursing Home In Rhode Island

A cat can predict deaths at a nursing home in Rhode Island, according to a new book by scientist Dr. David Dosa.

The book, "Making Rounds With Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat," claims that 'Oscar the cat' has predicted the deaths of some 50 elderly patients, curling up with them just before they die.

Staff at the nursing home have reportedly confirmed the claims.

It is believed that the cat 'smells' death, detecting odors released by the body as it nears death.

World's youngest yoga teacher, six, hailed as a miracle at Indian ashram

At just six, Shruti Pandey is the youngest yoga trainer in the world.

The bendy youngster has been teaching adults at an ashram, in northern India, for the last two years.

Her trainer, Hari Chetan, 67, set up the ashram 35 years ago and as soon as little Shruti became one of his students, as a tiny four-year old, he spotted her talents.

Now she starts her classes at 5.30am every morning, at Brahmanand Saraswati Dham, in the Jhunsi town, dressed in white leggings and a red t-shirt surrounded by 30 eager pupils ranging from businessmen, teachers, housewives to pensioners.

Shruti said: 'It feels good when people follow my instructions, I feel like a real teacher.

'I got interested in yoga after seeing my brother do it. I tried picking it up myself but it was too hard. So I asked my parents to send me to yoga classes.'

Family holds ‘ghost’ marriage for deceased girl

AN afterworld marriage was conducted for a four-year-old girl who died 52 years ago, reported China Press and Sin Chew Daily.

China Press reported yesterday that the girl was identified as Chen Ya Xi while the groom was a 60-year-old ghost by the name of Zhang Ting Ping.

Chen Yue Chun, 54, the bride’s sister, said that Ya Xi came to her in a dream and stated her intention to get married.

The family then sought the help of a medium who picked the wedding date. After the wedding, a dinner was held for the newlyweds’ “friends” from the afterworld.

> The daily also reported that police posing as customers had been able to bust three vice syndicates offering foreign women via the Internet.

Some 18 women from China, Thailand and Vietnam were picked up in the past week. Also arrested were three people employed by the syndicates.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that a housewife had gone to the press to expose her lecturer husband’s sexual escapades with his students.

She did so in the hope that the school would take disciplinary action against him. The daily reported that the lecturer came clean one day when he brought a student home and introduced the girl to his wife.

Are Spaceships Set To Invade Earth in 2012?

UFO encounters became especially frequent in the middle of the 20th century, when it became impossible to disregard incidents of UFO sightings anymore. Special services started establishing special departments for air defense troops, secret laboratories were organized to study the phenomenon. It is not ruled out, that secret services have already had chances to study fragments of alien spaceships or even aliens themselves.

It is about time science should say its word regarding the problem, and it did. SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), an independent non-commercial organization, released a sensational statement.

Three giant spaceships are heading towards Earth. The largest one of them is 240 kilometers wide. Two others are smaller. At present, the objects are beyond the orbit of Pluto.

The spaceships were detected by HAARD search system. The system, based in Alaska, was designed to study the phenomenon of northern lights. According to SETI researchers, the objects are nothing but extraterrestrial spaceships. They will be visible in optical telescopes as soon as they reach Mars's orbit. The US government has been reportedly informed about the event. The ships will reach Earth in December 2012.

The date of the supposed space contact with extraterrestrial civilization brings up thoughts about the Mayan calendar, which ends on December 21, 2012. Is it just a coincidence? Most likely, though, SETI researchers mistake the wish for the reality: fifty years of constant monitoring of space have not yielded any results.

Papaya shaped Lord Ganesha attracts Bhubaneswar devotees
