UFO spotted hovering for three hours over Zhejiang Province

What's with all the UFOs these days? It's been less than two months since a UFO (still unidentified) was spotted in Hangzhou, and now another one has appeared in Zhejiang province. A bright object was visible for at least three hours over the skies of Haiyan County.
People's Daily has the full story:
Many people witnessed the UFO at the scene that evening.
"I have no idea what it is," a witness said.

The reporter found that not only was the object itself very bright in the sky, but its reflection on the river was also very eye-catching. Many residents in Haiyan County also witnessed it.

Another witness said, "It looked quite big and it seemed that it was moving."

Another bright flickering dot appeared above the object and started to move toward the object slowly when residents were discussing the unidentified object. This flickering dot was visible for about 10 minutes and started to fly toward Haining City.
Two reporters from Haiyan's local TV station followed the twinkling object in a car moving toward Haining City and took relatively clear pictures after waiting for about an hour on the flight path of the object.

According to the picture, it was a round object that had shiny blue lights, and several other flickering objects were around it.

After a while, however, reporters found that the round object had seemingly become rectangular. The object gradually flew higher and finally disappeared at around 10 p.m. about three hours after its first appearance.

Spooky Singapore West Region: Neo Tiew Village

by Master Oregon Chang and team members

One of our team members had served his National Service at Sungei Gedong Camp, which is situated deep within the Lim Chu Kang area of North Western Singapore. He had long heard about an entire estate of HDB which has been abandoned for many years and is rumoured to be haunted. This place is known as Neo Tiew Village and is actually situated near the Sungei Gedong Camp.

Thus, one afternoon, the Team of Asia Paranormal decided to make a trip down to take a look. We had known of the fact that this area is currently a training area for the Singapore Armed Forces, therefore we decided to go in the daytime, in case we run into trouble if there is a live training exercise during the night time.

Before that we did some research, some of the stories regarding this place is as follows:

“Neo Tiew (1883 – 1975) was a pioneer in development of Lim Chu Kang area. He involved in developing roads and setting up schools, clinics and power stations. During World War II, Neo mobilized fellow patriots in aid of the British army in the defence of Lim Chu Kang and Kranji. Sadly, his entire family of 35 was killed in 1942 and only he and his fourth son managed to escape the Japanese.”

"There is a legend that the king of the banana trees was planted behind the flats. One person wanted to strike a fortune in lottery, so he prayed at the tree. He threatened the king by putting seven pins into the tree. After he became rich, he ran off and bought a condo, but forgot to remove the pins. Thus the king of the banana trees died, and the spirit has been seeking revenge since. After this happened, the block of flats became abandoned. “

“In the past, this was a lively estate, when it was built in 1979. The soldiers from the nearby army camps used to frequent its food centers for meals. Then later the place was en bloc in 2002, and the residents evicted elsewhere. Since then, it has been taken over by the SAF for training purposes.”

Here are of photos of its main areas.

General pics of the surroundings

Team Asia Paranormal split in pairs and did a quick walkabout of the main areas, it seems like the whole place is deserted and ruined. There are a lot of signs of neglect and destruction. Even though it was in the daytime, it also does feel very quiet and eerie. There was only the occasional sounds of cars driving past and the cries of birds.

We discover that there are a few blocks of flats, around 6 of them. These are old style HDB flats, only 3 stories high. They all look ruined and neglected. There is also a what we believe is a food center or market and a playground. One of our team members had heard about this playground and it is supposedly haunted, especially during the night. If you hang around this playground at night, it could be dangerous.

The playground rumoured to be very haunted

Other than the signs of wear and tear, we did not detect nor feel anything wrong with the playground.

We decide to proceed into one of the blocks of flats for a quick look. The interior are all full of vandalism and rubbish. There are also army equipment on the ground, no doubt left behind by the training soldiers. There are walls torn down, stairs broken and windows broken.

Joan: This is a Japanese phrase which means "hot"

More rubbish

On the ground lobby, we discovered weirder vandalism.

Who's Chris?

What's K.U.G? A group? Or an organization?

Overall, Neo Tiew feels just like an abandoned town, no feelings of spookiness and eeriness. Finally, we discovered something eerie and horrifying at one of the ground floor lobbies:

Evidence of Satanic rituals or very bored people?

666 is widely known as the number of the Beast (Satan) in the Book of Revelations, while a pentagram is a religious symbol used in Wiccan, Jewish and Christian traditions. If a goat head is included within the pentagram, it is used as the symbol for the Church of Satan.

The Sigil of Baphomet

Was this place used as a place of worship for Satan, including Satanic rituals? Or was this just the work of bored vandals? We could not confirm too much as there were not any signs or evidence of rituals having taken place here.

Dear readers, what do you think?

During our examination of this wall, we heard noises which seem to be people talking. Looking around somemore, we discovered that we were not alone, as there were other people here. They were foreign construction workers, maybe taking a break here or hiding out here.

Finally, Team Asia Paranormal decided to leave the place. We took one last look at the exterior of the place.

These pics were taken from the exterior

Overall, the rumors and legends attached to this place does not do prove much, as though our exploration. One can only imagine that this place was a lively town until a few years ago. Why would it be haunted, since no prominent incidents took place there?

Our Feng Shui expert explains that even though nothing may have happen there, once a place is abandoned, spirits will linger around and attach themselves to that place due to the lack of human activities. Even if human activities are restored, the spirits will still be around and in some cases, angered by the disturbance. Thus a medium or psychic will be required to cleanse the spirits away before humans can come back in again.

Man finds soap and talcum powder 'delicious'

MANY crave nasi lemak, roti canai and other delights. But for a 63-year-old, soap and talcum powder has been his favourite "food" for the past 17 years.

Mohd Razali Ishak, 63, said many people think his unusual habit would affect his health, Harian Metro reported.

"I started eating bar soap after I was attracted to its smell and shape.

"After taking a small bite, I found it delicious and it has become a staple item in my diet.

"Seven months ago, I started eating talcum powder because of its smell. Now, I am able to finish two to three bottles of 100gm powder," he said.

The father of nine has even gone to a hospital to confirm his physical and mental health.

"Tests confirm I am sane," he said.

Mohd Razali who stays in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, said he still did not know the reason behind his strange habit.

Pantai Ipoh Hospital consultant rheumatologist Dr Loo Kok Lim said Mohd Razali has Pica Syndrome.

He said sufferers crave non-food items like sand and glass as well as soap and powder.

Ghost Sightings Spark Scenes of Hysteria in Indonesian Capital

The Jakarta city administration has moved with exceptional speed to cut down an old mahogany tree said to harbor two distinct forms of Indonesian ghosts.

The extraordinary turn of events has led the religious affairs minister to call on people not to be influenced by “mystical” stories and the National Police chief to appeal for calm.

The saga began when a pocong (shrouded corpse ghost) and kuntilanak (vampiric female ghost) revealed themselves to a child who reportedly made the mistake of relieving himself against the old tree in Roxy, Central Jakarta, on Nov. 26.

In the hysteria that has followed since, hundreds of people have begun visiting the tree with at least ten becoming possessed by spirits.

Photographs and video purporting to be of both the pocong and kuntilanak are now circulating on the Internet.

Ferry Abdillah Kadir, a local official, told Detik.com that the sightings had drawn large crowds that had caused major traffic congestion.

He said he had sent a letter of request to the Jakarta Park and Cemetery Agency to remove the tree.

Though the agency acted quickly and cut down the tree on Thursday, the spectacle is not over — speculation is mounting that the ghosts have simply moved to one of three neighboring mahogany trees, Detik.com reported.

“Someone said the ghosts have moved to the other tree but we cannot cut down all the trees,” Ferry said.

Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali said people should not be influenced by the reports.

“These kinds of things [pocong and kuntilanak] cannot be seen with normal eyes, especially in the afternoon,” Suryadharma said at the Presidential Palace. “Therefore, people should not believe in mysticism.”

National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo also commented on the issue.

“People should remain calm,” Timur said. “The National Police have taken action. Thank you.”

The sea monster of Amoy

Source: The Straits Times,11 August 1935

Here is an article from a Singapore newspaper of the mid 1930s about a sea monster near Amoy (now Xiamen) on the east coast of China:

THE SEA MONSTER OF AMOY

The desperate attempts within recent months to obtain for the China coast a monster strange and ugly enough to compete with the growing number abroad seem to be on the verge of success, judging from latest reports from the Chaoan District near Amoy.

Compared with Loch Ness submarine creature and the number of weird relics washed up by the sea, the Amoy sea monster promises to exceed all in originality and interest. Although fishermen are among the authors of the terror-spreading tales from the Chaoan district, credence and colour are supplied by peasants who assert that they have also seen this new offspring of Father Neptune.

The monster, unfortunately, bears characteristics closely identical with those of a man seen from far off; and, although the shape of its body has not been decided upon satisfactorily, the natives say that its head at any rate is “almost human”. The creature is decently clad in long black hair which enables it to conform somewhat to convention when it relieves the monotony of marine existence by a walk on land or a hunt in the scrub for food.

Local inhabitants have been terrified by the monster`s alleged partiality for human flesh and have decided to make an attempt to capture the creature, both for their own safety and the honour of the district.

Colony fishermen agree that this would be the biggest “catch” of the season.

Zao-jun – the Ancient Kitchen God of China

By Yona Williams

When people prayed to the god of the household, they sent their thoughts to the Kitchen God, Zao-jun, whose name literally translates into 'stove spirit' or 'stove god.' Out of all the domestic gods associated with Chinese mythology, he is known as one of the most important.

Zao-jun is a god that protects the hearth and family. It is thought that on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, Zao-jun reports the activities of every household over the past year to the Jade Emperor (Yu Huang). He returns to Heaven to make his report just before the Chinese New Year. The Jade Emperor (the emperor of the heavens) would either punish or give rewards to a family based on what Zao Jun had reported.

Stories involving the Kitchen God date back to the 2nd century BC. He was originally a mortal who lived on earth under the name of Zhang Lang. He eventually took a wife – becoming married to a virtuous woman. However, he ended up falling in love with a younger woman and left his wife for the other. The adulterous act led to punishment, as the heavens made sure that he had to deal with bad fortune. He lost his sight and his young lover left him. His health condition forced him to beg as a way to support himself.

Temple of Angkor

By Tripzibit

In 1860, Henri Mouhot, a French naturalist had gone to Indo-China in search of rare birds and insects. He didn't find rare birds or insects but found monumental highways, artificial waterways and magnificently constructed towers. These he realized were not ordinary buildings but were the remnants of a splendid civilization. Unfortunately Mouhot fell sick and died of tropical fever. His reports were passed on to others. And all the details arrived at one conclusion - that there occurred a brilliant civilization.

The minute details were later on discovered by the French government who set up an Exploration Commission. By 1885 they had worked up a chronology of the rulers and developed the outlines of a description of the civilization that had produced the wondrous city. They could document that Angkor had been constructed by a south-east Asian people, called Khmers. They developed militarily and technologically for 500 years. But the question which historians could not answer was that why these ancient peoples suddenly chose to abandon settlements that they labored so hard to build?

Haunted College in Manila

Perched at the edge of a small town two hours outside of Manila is an old prestigious university known for its school of medicine and veterinary school. Within the campus of the 100-year-old institution which will go unnamed, is an auditorium used as a gymnasium by day. It is noted for its terrifying history as a death camp for Filipino soldiers detained by the Japanese during WWII.

In the summer of 2011, I was invited to visit the infamous building which students avoided by night. A friendly journalist accompanied me on this trip and a respected alumni and aspiring dancer. It was 5 in the afternoon by the time we entered the building as the last drama class of the day had departed and the final basketball game had wrapped up on the makeshift basket ball court outside.

In the eerie afternoon, we entered the massive auditorium and ascended the stairs to the second floor. In the tropics, the sun does not make its way to the horizon until 8 or 9 pm. Grateful for the remaining daylight, we ascended the mahogany steps to the silent balcony toward the rear of the auditorium where dance practices were held. The smell of musty furniture assailed us in the empty rooms. Except for dust moats floating in the rooms, it was empty.

Towards the front and onto the auditorium’s stage, I started snapping photographs to catch what naked eyes may not reach. We were rewarded with “orbs” in two photographs as my dancer friend leaped on the stage in mock performance. It is this stage that has terrified several students through the years with sightings of beheaded monks marching to their death toward the “dungeon” beneath the wooden stage. Reports of dark streaks that smell like dried blood mar the floor. We inspected dutifully, but found none in the light of day. I was told it reappears at night.

Behind the stage, we planned on descending to the basement. Just a few months ago, chains were heard clinking by drama students who failed to follow the warning to vacate the building by nightfall. Our passage was blocked by debris, thrown by custodians to block the passage into the lower depths of what some dubbed “torture room.” Under the stage, reports of screams, moaning and terrifying yells of the dying were heard as recently as a week back from passersby outside the building.

The building has been reportedly blessed. The journalist reports that past the debris that blocks the path to the basement, skeletons were found chained to the walls. Forensics revealed the bones to be old, circa 1940-43. Research into the beginnings of the building revealed its tortured past as an internment camp for Filipino prisoners, chained and tortured by Japanese soldiers.

In the dead of night, when students have long gone to local bars and hangouts, the building’s lone security light shines as a beacon to passersby to remain vigilant and to keep their distance. Freshmen on a dare continue to enter past the hour when the sun has set. It is, after all, a gymnasium, used for practice when there are no performances on stage – when the chairs are folded and rolled away.

Out of Body Experience – What Happens When You Leave Your Body?

by Steve G. Jones

An Out of Body Experience (OBE) is a deeply personal experience that can have profound effects. With the ability to change one’s outlook, deepen spirituality, and provide access to answers to life’s deepest questions, OBEs are a popular way to achieve enlightenment. There are several types of OBE and many ways in which to experience one. Depending on your goals and your willingness to practice, you can experience a variety of OBEs. Astral projection is one of the many types of OBE and is the one you are most likely to seek out on your own.

Types of Out of Body Experience

Involuntary — This type of OBE occurs quite by accident, and can happen with or without consciousness. They can be in the form of vivid dreams, after which you wake up tired. If there is consciousness of this type of OBE, you may wake up in the middle of a dream.

Voluntary — During this type of OBE, you will choose to have the experience. This can be done with or without consciousness. This type of OBE can be remote viewing, lucid dreams, or astral projection. Remote viewing is likely to be done without consciousness and astral projection is likely to be done with consciousness.

Pakistani woman kills, attempts to cook husband

Pakistani police on Thursday arrested a woman who had killed her husband and was attempting to cook his body parts after he planned to marry another woman without her permission.

The police arrested Zainab Bibi, 32, and her nephew Zaheer, 22, in the Shah Faisal colony of Pakistan's southern megacity Karachi, and recovered the bowl of flesh she planned to cook, said police chief for the area Nadeem Baig.

"They killed Ahmed Abbas, Zainab's husband, and chopped his body into pieces and were about to cook the flesh in a bowl," he told AFP, adding that the knife with which they killed the man had been recovered.

Television networks showed gruesome footage of the human flesh in a bowl ready for the stove.

A neighbour had alerted the police and investigations were ongoing, said Baig.

"There could be two factors behind her intention to cook the husband. One is to destroy the evidence and the other could be her immense hatred against him," over his plan to marry another woman, he said.

According to family law in the Islamic country, a man has to get permission from his first wife before his second marriage, but the law is rarely observed.

'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' Causing Seizures In US Cinemas

Picture is copyright to Summit Entertainment

By Alex Winehouse

Of all the criticisms 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' has had thrown at it, surely nothing has been as bizarre as the latest storm - being blamed for causing a number of epileptic seizures in its male audience.

Brandon Gephart, from Roseville, California, was rushed to hospital having been taken ill during the scene in which Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan gives birth to her half-vampire baby.

His girlfriend Kelly Bauman told CBS Sacramento: "He was convulsing, snorting, trying to breathe. He scared me big time."

Also in the US, an unnamed man from Salt Lake City, Utah, suffered a similar fit whilst watching the film, telling ABC4: "I didn't really remember what happened after that. I think I blacked out. According to [my wife] I was shaking and mumbling different noises."

His wife added: "I was kneeling in front of him and slapping his face," with the man unwilling to reveal his identity for fear that he would lose his job if his bosses found out.

Doctor Michael G Chez told CBS: "It's like a light going off because it hits your brain all at once. The trouble with theatres is that they're so dark, the light flashing in there is more like a strobe light."

Gephart was at pains to point out that he only attended the movie to please his girlfriend, and has no plans to return to the cinema to see how it ends.
