5 Most Haunted Places in India!


Bangalore: Think of ghosts and your blood runs cold. Whether you are a believer in the paranormal or not, there are many reports of haunted places in India where you can venture at your own risk. Here are the places where the restless spirits of the night linger. They manifest as eerie voices and strange moves. In the five places listed here, people claims that the ghosts sometimes really do seem out to get you and they will leave you unconscionably struck with fear. These are the places tagged as most haunted places in India.

1. Bhangarh, Rajasthan

Bhangarh is a ruined town in the Alwar district in Rajasthan, India. Rumored to be a haunted place, in reality it is the ruins of an ancient fortified territory which is a popular destination for weekend getaways. It is believed that the rumor of its being haunted was started by local villagers who scare away visitors and loot them. It is said by the local villagers that whenever a house has been built there its roof has collapsed. People say that nobody returned from there stayed after dark. As per Govt. of India rules there should be an office of Archaeology Survey of India (ASI) beside every historical structure in India. But even Government authorities couldn't dare to open an office there and they opened their office about one kilometer away from the ruins of Bhangarh. And the sign board says "Staying after sunset is strictly prohibited in this area."

2. Raj Kiran Hotel, Mumbai

There have been reports of a ghostly apparition floating particularly in one room of this hotel. In this room, guests have complained of their sheets being pulled by ghosts. A lot of people have gone through mental treatment after staying in this particular room. However, the room has been stopped being rented out and mostly kept vacant, after a lot of reports of paranormal activity.

3. Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad

The hotels in Ramoji film city are believed to be haunted. The Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad is believed to have been built on war grounds of the Nizam sultans and the place is haunted by notorious ghosts of dead soldiers. Women get troubled by the ghosts of dead soldiers more than the guys. Torn clothes, shadows in the changing rooms, knocks from the bathroom doors locked from outside are common in these hotels.

4. Kurseong Dow-Hill, West Bengal

Dow Hill, Kurseong in West Bengal is one of the most haunted places of India. The damp, cold and sometimes dark forests have an uncanny feeling. Countless murders and lot of paranormal activities have been recorded in this strange and mysterious forest. On the stretch between Dow-Hill road and the Forest Office, woodcutters claim to have seen a headless young boy walking and then disappearing into the trees.

5. Dumas Beach, Gujarat

Dumas beach in Gujarat is one of the most haunted places in India. Hindus burn their dead bodies on the beach and this area has been reported for its paranormal activities. People say that they experienced hearing strange whispers on the beach. It is believed that the wind around this area is full of spirits of dead people. Many locals have complained to have heard weird voices while walking along the beach. Some tourists have been known to have disappeared while taking walks on the beach at night.
