Born in Kumamoto Prefecture Japan during the Meiji Period, she was to become a renowned clairvoyant. She became aware of her abilities at the age of 23 during a foresight whilst meditating; she was able to see worms in a tree which were invisible to the naked eye due to the bark.
It is believed by many that Chizuko foresaw her own death by having a vision of a newspaper article. She has since been the influence of horror films The Ring and Premonition.
